Eye Care for AMIE students

Do you get headaches or eyestrain from staring at your computer monitor or after long hours of study? At the end of a long day in front of your computer screen, is it difficult to focus on distant objects? You may be suffering from computer vision syndrome (CVS).

CVS caused dry eyes, a common problem with most of computer users due to prolonged usage of the computer. Students, computer workers, software engineers, readers may suffer from this CVS.

Tips to solve this problem:
Blinking: Blink frequently to keep the front surface of your eye moist. However, if you have severe dry eyes problem, then you may use a good eye lubricant viz. Vel Drop Gel or Lubrex. A bottle will cost you about Rs. 95/- or so.

Eye Cooling: You may use a new product called Cool Eye (By flemingo). This is just like a goggle. Instead of the glasses, it has the gel. You should keep it in the fridge. When you feel your eyes are tired, just wear it for few minutes, and then place it again in the fridge. It will cost your Rs. 99/- or so.

20-20-20 Rule: Take a short break for your eyes every 20 minutes between your work for 20 seconds then look at objects that are at least 20 feet away.
